Eleanor Kotlarik Wang spent her early childhood in her father’s homeland near Trencin, Slovakia. At age 5, the family relocated to Chicago. Her interests in art, folklore, dance and teaching developed during her years in the city and continue to influence her current life and works. Wang believes that “everything in the universe is endowed with a spirit or energy. As an artist, I try to capture the essence of this spirit in my images.”
She has studied in France, Vermont and Chicago and locally at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Wang’s paintings have been exhibited in various juried and solo shows and are in private and corporate collections in the US, Europe and Asia. She is also a participant in the Art in Embassies program.
