Lee Newman is a graduate of the American University with both his BFA and MFA. He is a Fulbright Scholar from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna Austria. Both an accomplished painter and printmaker he has had numerous solo print shows in galleries such as the Courtyard Gallery in Washington, DC; Blue Pony Gallery in Charlotte, NC; Washington and Lee University, and at the Washington Printmakers Gallery in Washington, DC. His prints can be found in the permanent collections of several universities such as American University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Welesley College. Several major institutions such at the National Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Museum of the Ukraine, Art Institute of Chicago and the Corcoran Gallery of art also include Lee Newman prints in their permanent collections.
