Susan Engle was born in Santiago, Chile, but grew up in the Washington, DC area. Susan returned to Chile for an international study program at the Universidad Catolica. She later received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, and is currently painting in Maryland.

Her paintings vary from representational landscapes and architectural details to abstract puzzles of color, playing with cast shadows and movement of light. Animals are also a favorite subject in Susan’s paintings and drawings. She has won awards for her whimsical pet portraits.

Susan’s paintings have been exhibited in several group and solo shows over the past 20 years in Washington, DC and abroad.
